Mr. Ochonu is a trained pharmacist with progressive experience in project management, procurement & supply chain management, health systems strengthening, logistics management, sales & marketing, information management and more. He is equipped with vital knowledge in areas of leadership and management, strategy development and implementation, relationship building, effective communication. His experience cuts across Nigeria and Ethiopia. In these regions and while carrying out his functions, he has partnered with Donor agencies, implementing partners, Ministries of Health, private sector enterprise, professional bodies to improve performance and outcomes while promoting accountability, sustainability through strategic engagement and implementation.

He is a pharmacy graduate of the University of Jos. He has a master’s Degrees in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same university and a second master’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom. In addition, he possesses a Post – graduate Diploma from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira, Kaduna state. He is a member of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), International Association of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL).

Prior to his appointment with MDS, he was a supply chain lead / PSM expert with PICMA. In the past, he also functioned as Managing Director – CHANMedi – Pharm Ltd. His experience in the private sector was mostly with FIDSON Healthcare PLC, where he progressed to Regional Manager, North 2.

He was appointed as General Manager – Pharmalogistics for MDS Logistics in August 2022
